June 12th Pawty with a Purpose – Live Music

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

SherylPlaysThe Lovely Miz Sheryl Wiser will take to the stage around 7:30 p.m. You’ll love the soulful rhythm and roots sound of this solo artist, featuring a passionate, smoky voice and edgy electric guitar licks. Her poetic lyrics seek to unravel the mysteries of love and loss, shining a light on the passions of everyday people. Sheryl has opened for the likes of Tori Amos, Jill Sobule, The Paperboys, and Crash Test Dummies. She’ll keep the “pawty” going and bring out some new stuff you haven’t heard yet.

Jared

Jared Clifton, of Radio Nationals, will open the show around 6:30 p.m. or so. Critics say his music is a fusion of rock ‘n’ roll, pop, and country, creating a uniquely American sound compared to Neil Young, The Replacements, and Wilco. His gritty, twangy American rock will get the party started with lyrics that will stick in your head for days.

Hello everybody! Guess where I’ll be this Saturday? I’ll be signing books at the 5th Annual Bark in the Park festival at Storvik Park in Anacortes. Come join us and many dogs and folks.

Silly contests! Raffles to win stuff! Goodie bags to the early arrivals! Games and more!

Last year, more than 300 dogs and 600 people came out for silly contests, booths, food, sun and fun. This year, The Dog Lover’s Companion to the Pacific Northwest will be there. All proceeds benefit the new dog park in Anacortes, scheduled for it’s grand opening in July.

See http://bit.ly/barkinpark for a complete Schedule of Events.
