Sequim Dog Park Volunteer Saturday, 5/23
Monday, May 18th, 2009
Direct from my email via sequimdogparks.org:
Calling ALL Volunteers!
Work Party needs Volunteers on Saturday, May 23rd at 9:45 AM
We need volunteers to help out. We are having a work party for a few hours on Saturday, May 23rd at 9:45 AM. We will be spraying non-toxic home-made grass killer (vinegar & lemon juice) along the fences, raking gravel back into place and filling holes in the dog play areas. Please show up at the dog park at 9:45 AM and sign in. Bring any tools you think might be helpful, and a pair of yard gloves. Take pride in YOUR dog park, and come lend a hand!
PLEASE NOTE: We must have good weather for this work party. Sun and partial sun is good. If it is pouring down rain, the work party will not be held. If you have questions, call 681-2371 or 477-4208.
THANKS!

Things I learned today at the F3 plant sale
Saturday, May 16th, 2009
I autographed books today at the Furry Faces Foundation (F3) plant sale, to raise money for people who need assistance with vet bills. Met very cool folks and learned things I didn’t know, such as:
1) There’s a new pet airline starting this summer, where all size dogs will be allowed to travel in the cabin with you.
2) There’s a series of children’s books by Alexandra Day about a babysitting Rottweiller named Carl. Good Dog, Carl.
3) If you want a dog, adopt a black dog! They have a tougher time getting chosen simply because they don’t photograph well. People can’t see their cute facial expressions in pictures, so it’s tougher for them to win you over.
4) Speaking of adoptions, Animals First Foundation has sweet fosters in need of homes in the Seattle area, like adorable Riley here. They specialize in senior dogs, breeds with bad reps, and other tough love cases.
5) Lastly, Long Beach, WA is holding their Doggie Olympics again this year, the weekend of June 20th & 21st.
